The Basics

A full arch, four to six implants

All-on-X uses a small number of strategically placed implants (typically four to six), to support a full, fixed arch of replacement teeth. Unlike traditional dentures, this arch doesn't come out, doesn't shift, and doesn't rely on adhesive. For many patients, the temporary arch can be placed the same day as surgery, so you leave with a functional, fixed set of teeth rather than a healing gap. Not ready for a fully fixed solution? An implant overdenture offers a removable middle ground. More stable than a traditional denture, at a lower cost than a full fixed arch.

What to Expect

The stages involved

1. Consultation & Planning

A full evaluation and imaging to map out implant placement and determine if you're a candidate.

2. Surgery & Same-Day Arch

Implants are placed and, for most patients, a fixed temporary arch is attached the same day.

3. Healing

The implants integrate with the jawbone over the following months before the final arch is made.

4. Final Restoration

Your final, custom-fitted permanent arch replaces the temporary.

For recovery detail, see our standard implant guide. We'll walk through your specific timeline at consultation, since a full arch heals a bit differently than a single tooth.

Common Questions

Teeth in a Day FAQ

Traditional implants typically replace one tooth per implant. Teeth in a Day (All-on-X) uses just four to six implants to support an entire fixed arch, making full-mouth restoration more efficient for patients missing most or all of their teeth.

Most candidates receive a fixed temporary arch the same day as surgery, so you're not left without teeth during healing. Your final, permanent arch is placed once healing is complete.

Unlike removable dentures, a Teeth in a Day arch is fixed in place. It doesn't come out, shift, or rely on adhesive, and it functions much closer to natural teeth.

No, it does not hurt. The procedure is done under anesthesia, with sedation options available for additional comfort. Some post-surgical soreness during healing is normal.

Yes. This includes prescribed medications, but also any recreational or non-prescribed drug use. Certain substances can seriously affect how your body responds to local anesthesia. We will never judge you for disclosing this. This practice was built around patient safety first, and what you tell us stays confidential.
