Braces built for lasting results
Traditional metal braces for teens and adults, led by Dr. May Kim. Still the most reliable, affordable path to a fully corrected bite, especially for more complex cases.
Reliable, affordable, and effective for nearly any case
Braces remain the gold standard for complex orthodontic correction. Severe crowding, significant bite discrepancies, and cases that need more precise control than removable aligners can offer. They're also typically the most affordable orthodontic option, with a treatment timeline that's easy to predict from day one.
Curious whether clear aligners might be a better fit for your case instead? We'll help you figure out which makes more sense at your consultation.
How treatment works
1. Consultation & Digital Imaging
Dr. May Kim evaluates your bite and teeth using digital imaging and X-rays to map out a custom treatment plan.
2. Braces Placed
Brackets are bonded to each tooth and an arch wire is threaded through and secured.
3. Regular Adjustments
Wires are tightened or changed roughly every 4–6 weeks to keep teeth moving on schedule. Elastics or additional appliances may be added at certain stages for bite correction.
4. Debonding & Retainer
Once treatment is complete, brackets are removed and a custom retainer is fitted to hold your new smile in place.

Common issues we correct
Crowding
Gently shifts overlapping or crowded teeth into proper alignment over time, including more severe cases.
Gaps
Closes unwanted spacing between teeth for a more even smile.
Bite Issues
Corrects mild to severe overbite, underbite, and crossbite concerns with precise, controlled movement.
Open Bite
Corrects cases where the front upper and lower teeth don't touch when biting down, which can affect both speech and chewing.
Rotated Teeth
Rotates individual teeth that have turned or twisted out of alignment back into their proper position.
Orthodontic Relapse
If teeth have shifted back after previous orthodontic treatment, braces can fully re-correct alignment, often more predictably than aligners alone for more significant relapse.
Pre-Restorative Alignment
Straightening teeth first often improves the fit and appearance of veneers, crowns, or bridges, setting up better cosmetic results before that work begins.

Mild soreness for 3–5 days after placement or an adjustment is normal and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief. It should never be sharp or severe.
